Experiencing God by Henry Blackaby & Claude King

Seven Realities of Experiencing God

1.God is always at work around you.
2.God pursues a continuing love relationship with you that is real and personal.
3.God invites you to become involved with Him in His work.
4.God speaks by the Holy Spirit through the Bible, prayer, circumstances, and the church to reveal Himself, His purposes, and His ways.
5.God’s invitation for you to work with Him always leads you to a crisis of belief that requires faith and action.
6.You must make major adjustments in your life to join God in what He is doing.
7.You come to know God by experience as you obey Him and He accomplishes His work through you.

We should attempt things so great that they are doomed to failure unless God intervenes.

To be loved by God is the highest relationship, the highest achievement, and the highest position in life.

The essence of sin is a shift from a God-centered to a self-centered life. The essence of salvation is a denial of self.

Never look at negative circumstances without seeing them against the backdrop of the cross.

God is far more interested in a love relationship with you than He is in what you can do for Him.

When you believe that nothing significant can happen through you, you have said more about your belief in God than you have said about yourself.

If you have an obedience problem, you have a love problem.

Obedience is the outward expression of your love for God.

Understanding what God is about to do where you are is more important than telling God what I can do for Him.

God always develops character to match his assignment.

Let the world see God at work and He will attract people to Himself. Let Christ be lifted up not in words but in life.

The cost of obedience is great, but the cost of disobedience is much greater.

Do I really believe that God loves me and will always do what is best and right?

God has given us His commands so that we might prosper and live life to its fullest measure.

Things only God can do:

God draws people to Himself.
God causes people to seek after Him.
God reveals spiritual truth.
God convicts the world of guilt regarding sin.
God convicts the world of judgement.

Your prayer life is a strong indicator about your relationship with God.

For some reason, God has chosen to do His work through His people. As He works to carry out His mission, He seeks to move a person into the mainstream of His activity.
