Ordering Your Private World – Gordon MacDonald
Every little action of the common day makes or unmakes character and therefore what one has done in the secret chamber, one has some day to cry aloud from the house-top.
Success can go to my head and will unless I remember that it is God who accomplishes the work, that he can continue to do so without my help, and that he will be able to make out with other means whenever he wants to cut me out.
Make a daily determination to see time as God’s gift and worthy of careful investment.
Seek to use all I learn in service to others, as Christ did.
Sainthood lies in the habit of referring the smallest actions to God.
Let inward prayer be your last act before you fall asleep and your first act when you wake.
Father may I see earth through heaven’s eyes.
Prayer is self-surrender.
4 Laws of Unseized Time:
Unseized time flows toward my weaknesses
Unseized time comes under the influence of dominant people in my world
Unseized time surrenders to the demands of all emergencies
Unseized time gets invested in things that gain public acclamation
The mind must be disciplined to think Christianly.
If you are not reading…you are not growing.
Pursue the discipline of seeing events and people though the eyes of Christ.
